Welcome to Minot YP

Welcome to the home of Young Professionals of Minot. We're excited about this growing network. We are a group of young professionals, ages 21-39, living and working in Minot and the surrounding areas, who want you engaged in Minot!

Teona Hagar
Congrats to Teona Hagar, our YP of the month!

YP Q and A:
Where are you working & what do you do there?:
I am with Peoples State Bank of Velva-Minot Branch. I am a loan assistant and customer service representative.

Tell us about your family:
I am the baby of three! My two brothers and mom resign in Bismarck, ND. Both brothers are mechanical engineers and my mom works for a medical billing company with focus on collections. The rest of my family includes my boyfriend Chris, his son Colton, and of course our fuzzy kids. Our dog Kota and cat Bubba!

Why are you a YP member and how are you involved within YP?:
I am actually a very new member to the YP program. I work closely with Sarah Schmaltz at the bank, and we try to dive into different things to keep ourselves active in the community as well keeping Peoples State Bank's name out there. We are involved in the marketing, and social groups and are looking forward to getting more involved as our time grows with YP!

Are you involved with any other clubs or groups in Minot?:
I am currently enrolled in the CLI class of 2014. We also had put together a group for the Magic Day of Giving, and I am also a volunteer at our local Souris Valley Animal Shelter.

What is your favorite thing to do in Minot?:
I love anything to do with supporting our community! Whether it's supper out, shopping down town, taking an art class at Margie's, or a coffee, I love being able to do those things and give back. I also am an outdoor person. I love to fish and hunt around the Minot area as well!

What if your biggest dream/goal?:
I think the dreams and goals we each make are ever evolving! My goal is strive for the best! Whether it is work, community service, with family or friends, I want to make sure that I am being the best friend, family member, or co-worker I can be. That would be my overall biggest goal, and maybe the best one I have.

What are your favorite movies or what type of music do you listen to?:
I always tease everyone and say that I'm 90 in a 24 year olds body! Ha-ha! Slippers and coffee and some old music or movies are the best!! I LOVE Matlock. (Geek right?) And as far as movies I'm pretty open. If it's a good movie I'm all in! Music- oh boy. Again, I'm pretty open. I love music from artist such as Ben Rector, Ron Pope, Mumford and Sons, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Eric Church.. and the list could go on and on!

What's your favorite Restaurant?:
I don't know that I have a favorite! Minot as so many great places and choices! I would say on of my favorite things right now- Drunken Noodles at the Little Blue Elephant down town! Yum!

The household chore I enjoy/despise doing the most is?:
Another geek truth- I don't mind cleaning at all! To me I like having things pretty organized and cleaning house is more relaxing to me than a head ache!

On a Friday night you'll find me...
Probably on the couch with the family (fuzzy family included) with a movie!
