Welcome to Minot YP

Welcome to the home of Young Professionals of Minot. We're excited about this growing network. We are a group of young professionals, ages 21-39, living and working in Minot and the surrounding areas, who want you engaged in Minot!

Megan Laudenschlager
Congrats to Megan Laudenschlager, our YP of the month!

Where are you working & what do you do there?

I am the Executive Director of Strengthen ND. Strengthen ND is a new organization that supports western North Dakota by 1) providing nonprofit capacity building opportunities, 2) advancing
regional issues, and 3) facilitating community solutions.

Tell us about your family:

I grew up on a farm near Warwick, ND where my mom and dad, Gene and Peggy Langley, still reside. I have two older sisters, Julee Warren and Kate Langley. Julee works as an MRI Technician at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and Kate is a teacher in Crosby, ND.
I married Erik Laudenschlager in March 2011, and he is a K9 police officer. We have three dogs: Tucker, Freddy, and Lois (Erik's police dog).

Why are you a YP member and how are you involved within YP?

I currently serve as a Member at Large on the Young Professionals Leadership Team. I joined YP to become more involved in the community, meet new people, and build my own leadership skills. YP offers so many opportunities for professional and personal development for individuals early on in their careers.

Are you involved with any other clubs or groups in Minot?

I am the Past President of Sunrise Rotary, member of the Magic Day of Giving planning team, Vice Chair of Minot Alliance of Nonprofits, member of the Board of Directors of Pollen Midwest,
Bush Foundation Fellow, and a member of Women United.

What is your favorite thing to do in Minot?

My favorite thing to do in Minot is to take advantage of all of the opportunities that the community provides for volunteering and giving back.

What is your biggest dream/goal?

My biggest dream is to continue with a career that is personally fulfilling and betters the lives of others.

What are your favorite movies or what type of music do you listen to?

My two most favorite movies are Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2!

What's your favorite restaurant?

My favorite restaurant would be a tossup between JL Beers and ND Asia.

The household chore I enjoy/despise doing the most is?

Laundry...it never ends!!
