The Minot Young Professionals want to welcome you to our newly re-designed website. You joined YP for many different reasons; whether it was for networking, socializing, professional development or just getting involved in your community. Regardless of the reason, you are NOW involved and this website is a great tool that you can utilize to keep yourself in the loop.

Congrats to Nancy Simpson, our YP of the month!

Nancy moved to Minot in April 2015 with her husband, Tyler, who is a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.  She grew up in Savannah, Ga, then moved to Atlanta for college where she majored in Economics and minored in Public Management & Policy at Georgia State University.  She has concentrations in Urban Development & Planning, Urban Growth & Quality of the Environment, Public Policy and International Economics.
Since starting in January as member of the first Resilience AmeriCorps VISTA program, Nancy has helped organize the First Annual Souris River Clean Up, The Minot Street Art Movement and has started the beginning stages of a Resilience Curricula for Elementary students. Currently she is working to create programs to educate residents on the importance of fire safety and natural disaster preparedness; and is working toward implementing indoor sustainable agriculture to provide fresh fruits and vegetables year round to Minot’s food pantries and soup kitchens. Nancy is also assisting in strategic planning for Minot’s Resilience programing and works with Minot’s Renaissance Zone Program; recently she applied for and received a 5 year extension for the Renaissance Zone Program.
In her spare time, she enjoys baking, gardening and crocheting. Outside of her VISTA responsibilities, she Co-Chair’s the Minot Young Professionals Outreach Committee and serves a Key Spouse for Tyler’s Squadron at Minot Air Force Base.
