MSU Unity in the Community

What is Minot State Unity in Our Community?

The Minot State Unity in Our Community was held on Monday, September 21st. The purpose for this campaign is two-fold: to bring the business community to the campus of MSU and to allow MSU students and faculty to feel businesses support the university.

The vision of the campaign is to have participating businesses in Minot to display a designed frame that includes the campaign logo and three caveats that the business agrees to subscribe to. The three caveats include:
  • Supports MSU
  • Provides hiring opportunities to MSU students and / or graduates
  • Speaks highly of MSU

The participation fee will be only $100 per year per business.

How YP Members can help

YP volunteer members will be assigned a list of businesses to contact via phone call to request their participation as well as a team leader from the Community Links team of YP. Upon getting affirmative agreement to participate, the YP volunteer should notify the team leader of which businesses agree. The recognition plaques will be created and the businesses will be billed through the Chamber; there will be no need for volunteers to collect the fees.

Campaign participation fees collected will be put towards an event to be held on campus open to the business community preferably during homecoming week.

The Community Links Team signed Bill Rancic, Donald Trump's 1st Apprentice, for our 2009 Unity in the Community Event.

Responsibilities required of volunteers will be to deliver the recognition plaque and any other promotional material including homecoming posters to the businesses included on the assigned list. This campaign is open to any business willing to participate, in or outside of Minot. Additional promotion of the campaign will be dependent upon participation and fees collected. The goal of the committee is to complete the campaign by the first week of September.

This aggressive campaign can be achieved through the hard work and effort of the volunteer members of the YP network and is a unique campaign to the Minot group. Let's take advantage of this opportunity to make Minot once again a University City!
